La presente obra es una adaptación al japonés de su exitoso Manual de Escritura de los Caracteres Chinos que, desde su primera publicación en 1998, se ha convertido en material de enseñanza de primer orden para una generación de sinólogos.En este volumen, como muestra de la progresión del autor en el estudio e interpretación de los lenguajes ideográficos de Extremo Oriente, Pedro Ceinos presenta a los lectores una serie de materiales que ayudarán a descubrir el significado original y evolución de los kanjis japoneses, incluyendo centenares de imágenes que muestran su evolución desde los antiguos pictogramas, continuas referencias al universo simbólico y cultural de los tiempos en que los caracteres fueron creados, una nueva organización del material que evidencia las relaciones semánticas entre kanjis con pronunciación semejante, así como una importante colección de reglas lógicas y nemotécnicas para los casos en los que se desconoce con certeza la evolución de un carácter.La cooperación de la profesora Shiho Miyagi, que pacientemente ha revisado los significados y utilización actual de cada uno de los kanjis presentados, permite garantizar al lector que la lectura y estudio de este libro se ajusta con precisión a los usos actuales del idioma japonés.
